Valerie Zhang may only be in her freshman year at Gleneagle Secondary School but she exhibits leadership capabilities beyond her years. Zhang is enrolled in TALONS, a highly rigorous and accelerated honours program for gifted learners, and has her hand in multiple school sports. Upon discovering the Pollinator Project’s youth initiatives program, she wasted no time to reach out to our central branch. Utilizing her charismatic persona, Zhang has since gathered and equipped 16 of her equally bright classmates to join her branch. Being the first school branch of the Pollinator Project, Zhang had no intentions to set the bar low. The Gleneagle branch has since organized one of, if not, the biggest fundraisers in the organization’s history, and is currently in contact with multiple primary/intermediate schools within the Greater Vancouver Area.
